Ed Harris complained early on about his limited part in the series in Dutton Ranch, the Yellowstone spin-off. He thought the role was meaningless and insisted on exiting. Harris told Variety, 'with frustration Get me the f- out of here' as he walked away. He later decided to return for Season 2 to rejoin for the sequel. The show’s boss tweaked the story and gave his character additional depth. That change prompted Harris opt to stay. Deadline now says he will return to the role.
