Tadej Pogačar claimed the victory in Stage 19 on July 24. The Slovenian rider pushed the pace on Alpe d'Huez and rode clear of the rest. Only Richard Carapaz drew near. Pogačar's group dealt with unwell teammates earlier in the stage but the leader held his form. His lead grew bigger on the last climbs. Two days prior, Carapaz took Stage 18 just minutes behind.
