A marine mammal was relocated from Marineland in Niagara Falls, Ontario to a Chicago aquarium. It died a short time later. The move happened before the death.
Marineland also relocated four dolphins and two belugas to an aquarium in Spain. Now the park has no remaining dolphins. Only belugas continue to reside there.
The transfer left the facility quieter. Staff check water and health. Visitors observe significantly fewer animals. The park’s visitor count dropped.
