Luftsportclub Bayer Leverkusen e.V. (LSC) continues to stand as one of Germany’s largest aviation clubs, supporting roughly 600 active members across multiple disciplines. The club operates as a Landesleistungsstützpunkt for gliding, underscoring its role as a key training and performance base for the sport, with gliding remaining its largest division and drawing significant youth participation each year. Based at Flugplatz Leverkusen, also known as Flugplatz Kurtekotten (ICAO: EDKL), the airfield features a 925–meter grass runway on the southern edge of Leverkusen, while a secondary field in Köln-Fühlingen accommodates ballooning and model aircraft activities, reflecting the club’s broad aviation footprint.
