John Robert Kenyon was a British lawyer and academic who lived from 1807 to 1880. He held various prestigious roles, including being a Queen's Counsel and a Bencher of the Middle Temple. Kenyon was also a Vinerian Professor of English Law at Oxford from 1844 until his death, where he taught and contributed to the field of law. He held several academic degrees, including a BA in 1828, a BCL in 1831, and a DCL in 1836, allowing him to hold esteemed positions such as a Fellow of All Souls College. Throughout his career, Kenyon also served in local roles, including Recorder of Oswestry and Chairman of the Shropshire Quarter Sessions.

He also was originator, director, of one of the first flight simulator courses in the country designed for professionals (MIT's summer session program). With this experience he was a major contributor to the development of the CAVE and understanding its advantages and limitations. He interests are mainly to understanding how limitations of a VE system (such as the CAVE) can affect human behavior.
