Members of Parliament have suggested replacing the BBC's fee structure. They propose reducing expenses and broadening financial support to include areas beyond television. MPs also recommend scrapping the BBC's charter renewal and preventing the broadcaster from undercutting commercial rivals for overseas shows. The proposals aim to address the BBC's financial challenges as it faces a critical decision point. The recommendations come amid ongoing discussions about the broadcaster's next steps.
